Ralph and the team are back from Cleveland, Ohio, after shooting in the kitchens of food giant Nestlé. With over 30 years of experience in shooting stills, Smith Photography is now capturing experts in the kitchen… in motion! Ralph’s keen eye for composition and light is now being applied to the exciting medium of video and he’s having fun with slow motion and HD without compromising his shooting style.
If you have seen Ridley Scott’s recently released movie Prometheus, you have no doubt been impressed by the incredible visuals on screen. Shot in 3D by a camera capable of 5K resolution, the RED EPIC is taking digital videography to the next level and is revolutionizing the film industry. Capturing an incredibly large amount of information – up to 300 frames per second – Red Epic is a hybrid that shoots motion and also tags frames that can become still frames. This feature allows us to capture rapidly moving flames from actual video footage (see photo below).
While our video for Nestlé is in post-production and we finalize our color grading, check out a few of our photos from the kitchens of Nestle, and this amazing Red Epic video http://www.red.com/products/epic. We’re looking forward to sharing our video with you soon. It’s going to be epic, pun intended!
