To say Ralph is obsessed with food would be an understatement. He’s been shooting (and eating) in Houston for over 30 years. And, like the food scene in Houston, Ralph has adapted and changed his style over those three decades in order to accommodate his diverse and growing clientele. Ralph’s photography is dynamic enough to capture the modern food stylings of chefs like Hugo Ortega and Ford Fry, while still being dependable enough to handle large scale clients like Starbucks and Landry’s Restaurant Group. When he’s not in the studio, you can catch Ralph with a glass of wine in one hand and a fly rod in the other.
Alex Crawford is a fashion, lifestyle, and food photographer. His career has moved him around the country to Nashville, New York, and Los Angeles. Alex has returned to his hometown to join the team at Ralph Smith Studios and focus on his passion for food photography in Houston, while using his unique background to help grow the services at the studio. When he’s not behind the camera, he is probably with his wife Emily at the Museum of Natural Science looking at the dinosaurs.
